I really found the fact that every human being has needs, and when they are not met, they seek to fill those needs, by healthy means or unhealthy means.
- This can apply to young children, young adults,middle-aged- or older adults.
When a child or individual is acting out it can be as simple as a cry for help, or attention that they are not getting and may need. Try to figure out what need is not being met instead of instantly getting angry. If needs are met, physically and emotionally the child/individual is much more well behaved and won't seek out unhealthy remedies to "try to meet" the absent need.
Here is a little video Mark and I made (mostly Mark) We bought Mark a new Mac for school so we were having fun with its features:)

Actions DO speak louder than words..
Communication occurs all of the time. It does not take a break because it includes not only speaking, but your tone, your facial expression, your body language etc. you cannot escape it, even being silent sends a message to others around you. A good thing to keep in mind-- INTERPRETATION IS EVERYTHING,
so be so careful! When I am talking to Mark, I tend to misunderstand him a lot and so for this week I want to try and slow down on my bad habit of assuming and try to learn Mark's signals and language..I need to work on being on the same channel as Mark so we can understand eachother. ALSO remember that men do have emotions, just as many as women in fact, they also express it just as much, they just express them in a totally different way. So, women, be wise and think before you get upset and say something like geez! You just don't care, do you?! ( I am also going to try and take that advice :) )
This is a good quote by an apostle (I can't remember who) sorry:/ but "he" said
"We need to communicate so clearly that we cannot be misunderstood."

Being Happy is....simple?!
This week in class we discussed different types of stressors and a bit of the physiology behind it.
A few pointers I took from this in class were things like:
-Bad things happen to good people
-Sometimes in a trial or when you sense danger you can only think about what confirms your fears
-Really make a conscious effort to NOT focus on the bad
-It may look completely AWFUL, but sometime down the road, maybe WAY down the road,
it may have a positive outcome. ALL depending on your perspective.
"Being happy DOESN'T mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections." Anonymous
ALSO things to ponder that can help you with the dang ol' negative mind we tend to have at times..
- SERVE
-Mourn with those that mourn
-Comfort those that need comfort
-Bare eachother's burdens
This is what Christ did in His mortal ministry.... : )

In a marriage I think everyone will have happy times and disappointments, So, how do we deal with these disappointments in marriage? Do we become hurt and bitter? Or can we have peace and improve our marriages? "
SEE Hebrews 12:14-15, Make every effort to live in peace with all men and be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. An acronym for F.A.I.T.H =Forsaking All I Trust Him
The question is do you trust Him, even when you don't understand what He's doing--
In John 16:33 it says: I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
In the final scheme of things we can take heart that through Him and only through Him we can have Peace...<3
I love this gospel and I am so glad that I have Mark as my eternal companion, he is SO perfect for me, we laugh together so much and there is nothing that can take my love for him away, he truly cares about me and no matter what this crazy life and world can throw at us will change my decision to live in eternity with this hottie ;) (As you can see in his BYU-I photo above...He is a HOTTIE) :)

Is LoVe a choice??
We discussed in our Family Relations class this week about whether or not love was a choice.. I personally believe after our discussion, that you cannot help if you are attracted to someone or not, or you find someone attractive, what you CAN choose in that situation is whether you will pursue your feelings or thoughts regarding that attraction. I, myself, decided that I was going to Choose to love Mark for eternity and I chose to make covenants with him and I will choose to keep my covenant to love him for eternity..KNOW-TRUST-RELY-COMMIT :)

Gender in Family Life...
"In His grand design, when God first created man, He created duality of the sexes. The ennobling expression of that duality is found in marriage. One individual is complementary to the other. As Paul stated, 'Neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord' (1 Corinthians 11:11). There is no other arrangement that meets the divine purposes of the Almighty. Man and woman are His creations. Thir duality is His design. Their complementary relationships and functions are fundamental to His purposes. One is incomplete without the other." -- President Gordon B. Hinckley
I LOVE MARK he DOES complete me :):)

What social class are you in??
This week in our Family class we watched a series of videos about different classes in America--It was very interesting to watch- I know there are a lot of classes in this nation and I don't deny that some aspects are not fair, but it is what it is unfortunately... I personally think that the class a person is put into should depend on their actual character/how they act..not how much money they have-- BUT that is the world we live in...it is pretty material...ok, so also, not to point a finger at Hollywood, but I'm pointing ..:) there are many of those who just inherited money and therefore are put up on a pedastol for nothing-- (Paris Hilton) for just one example that is basically nothing BUT rich.. and that is all. She has no talent and has made no contributions to society... yet she is famous...unfair yes? Well how many of you would actually want to trade spots with this lady? I would not:( She is oubviously judged and the media portrays her the way that I do, dumb and rich.. for no reason... it is sad actually, a part of me feels bad for her. And I am a bit unsettled with the fact that I also took part in judging her... but it is SO hard not to dang it! We are all working towards Godhood though right? So I think we can all improve in this area.

The Stuff Life is made of...
All of these thoughts have come from reading "Inner Victory" a book by David A. Christensen. How we spend our time tells us a great deal about us, doesn't it? Time is a standard or measurement through which we can measure the progression OR digression of self or group...we cannot save time, the truth is we can't save it and we have all there is... --Opportunity is only limited by our mind, "One of the major differences between people who love life and know how to live it to its fullest and those who don't, is couched in the great commodity of TIME. The issue of time is not what we have done but what we have become...the question is not how much time we have logged, but how far we have progressed...We will never find it if we loose it...each second comes and goes, it is here, and then it is not... Overwhelmed yet? ;) haha me too! I added a wedding picture so that I could remind myself that I am striving for eternity...:) where time doesn't exist..(I don't think)??:)

FAMILY concerns in society:
There are SO many concerns about the family and the new trends (and old) that have developed, they can be pretty overwhelming if we dwell on them, BUT Fear not!:) I think that even though the world is getting scarier, we can teach our kids (or future kids) in our HOMES. Teach them the truth before someone else teaches them "their truth".

D&C 6:36 coupled with the Learning Model
"The power we access by acting in faith that is focused on the Savior allows us to exceed our natural limits and learn beyond our natural capabilities. This enabling power is manifest through the bestowal of spiritaual gifts, accelerated learning, enhancement of natural abilities, discernment, and personal revelation." (BYU-I Learning model)(D&C 6:36) WOW! That is the first time that I had read the whole learning model and it has some pretty amazing blessings! I mean woot for the LM!:)
